On 16 January 2019, the five TUIASI Buddies received their ”Certificate of Attendance” during an informal meeting with the members of Vicerectorate for International Relations.
Prof. Irina Lungu, Vicerector for International Relations focused on efficient communication which represents a key attribute in an international and diverse environment. When travelling from afar, students need to accommodate prior to their new life with essential info to help their immediate immersion. While being here other information is needed and our Buddies fit perfectly to that role of hosting and accommodating to our student life. The experience was wonderful, they really enjoyed being Buddies and we are grateful for meeting all the international student needs.
Each Buddy expressed her / his feelings about the programme, told everybody how they assisted international students before their arrival and during the first weeks in Iasi.
Buddies shared their experience about how they benefited of new insights about foreign cultures right at their city, offering at the same time to international students the opportunity to explore Romanian culture and our way of life.
Here are some thoughts from our Buddies.
”Being part of Buddy System was an amazing experience. Not only that I had the chance to meet a lot of incredible people all around Europe and find more about their motivation to study and live in Romania, but each day I listened to others and others’ funny stories or found better ways to admire the city. Besides my Erasmus internship, being a buddy was the best experience of my student life.”, Larisa – Maria Petrila
„I’m grateful that I’ve been part of this project where I had the opportunity to meet people from all across the world and learn a little bit from their cultures, now I can say that I made some friends for life.” – Ștefania Bolboceanu
”The Buddy System gave me an opportunity to continue the Erasmus life and to keep in touch with the international environment by helping the incoming international students get used to live here, befriending them and making sure they have someone who can count on during their stay and even further after that, in the same way that I was helped by other students during my time as an exchange student.” – Florin Bohotineanu
”I think that every student should try the experience as a Buddy because they have the chance to know more about other cultures and also, to improve their English. I met student from Turkey, France and Portugal and I felt helpful in each time when I was sharing to them a piece of advice. I was grateful to made easier their accommodation in our town. ” – Elena – Cristiana Pintilie
We are looking forward to meeting the new Buddy team!
