From February 19th to 22nd, 2025, “Cristofor Simionescu” Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Protection of TUIASI hosted a delegation consisting of: Prof. Laurent Ballard, Prof. Nicolas Brodu from the University of Rouen Normandy, France, and Prof. Jens Denecke from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, Germany, who visited TUIASI as part of INGENIUM research grant project entitled “Biomass Valorization and Safe Production”.
It was an enriching visit for all the professors involved and an exciting exchange of ideas! TUIASI’s representatives presented the research infrastructure from four faculties of TUIASI with the aim of intensifying collaborative relations that would facilitate student and academic staff mobility, as well as collaboration on multidisciplinary projects.
To encourage the development of joint research groups, the program also included meeting and visits to laboratories within the Faculties of: “Cristofor Simionescu” Chemical Engineering and Environmental Protection, Automatic Control and Computer Science, Industrial Design and Business Management, and Machine Manufacturing and Industrial Management.
Our guests also had meetings at Petru Poni Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of Iași, a research institution of excellence of the Romanian Academy, with Dr. Marcela Mihai, scientific director, who presented the Institute’s main research directions and top research laboratories.
The project “Biomass Valorization and Safe Production” is funded by a research grant won after a competition within the INGENIUM project, by a team from ICPMCS consisting of: Lecturer Lenuța Kloetzer, PhD Bioeng, Assoc. Professor Alexandra Blaga, PhD Eng, Lecturer Alexandra Tucaliuc, PhD Eng.
The aim of these research grants is twofold: firstly, to promote research collaborations across the Alliance’s extensive network, and secondly, to encourage and nurture multidisciplinary research initiatives that transcend traditional academic boundaries.
