Professor Iulian B. Ciocoiu, from the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications, and Information Technology at “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași (TUIASI), participated as an invited speaker at the International Workshop on Lifelong Learning, Training and Employment, hosted by the University of Crete’s Center for Lifelong Learning (KEDIVIM) on March 10, 2025, in Heraklion, Greece.
The European workshop brought together leading voices in education, public policy, and innovation to explore the ongoing transformations in lifelong learning, vocational training, and employment trends across the continent.
During his session, Prof. Ciocoiu focused on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in lifelong learning, particularly in reshaping educational methods, student engagement, and the university’s evolving role in society. Based on recent research, he discussed how AI impacts not only digital content delivery but also decision-making, learning personalization, and access to inclusive education.
“Artificial Intelligence is redefining what it means to teach and learn. But technology must serve people—not the other way around,” stated Prof. Ciocoiu.
His presentation advocated for a human-centric approach to AI integration, underlining the need to maintain equity, ethics, and social cohesion as technology becomes increasingly embedded in education systems.
TUIASI’s presence at this international forum reflects its strategic commitment to research-driven policy innovation, digital transformation in higher education, and global academic partnerships. Through initiatives such as the TUIASI International Office and its involvement in the INGENIUM European University alliance, the university plays a key role in shaping the future of learning in Europe.
