TUIASI contributes to seven projects selected in the latest INGENIUM Joint Education Lab call

The INGENIUM European University Alliance has announced the 15 projects selected under its newest Joint Education Lab call, aimed at strengthening pedagogical innovation, hybrid teaching models, assessment redesign and cross‑campus collaboration. Among these, Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași (TUIASI) plays a key role in seven collaborative projects, contributing its expertise in engineering, architecture, chemistry, AI and educational innovation.

These initiatives highlight the shared mission of the alliance: building a diverse educational ecosystem where partner universities co‑create sustainable and future‑ready learning practices.

The seven INGENIUM projects involving TUIASI

1. Immersive Design Thinking Lab (iDT‑Lab)

TUIASI role: Project Leader
Led by Lecturer Dr. Elena Avram, this project creates an interactive, game‑based virtual lab where students practice Design Thinking by solving real innovation challenges.

2. Rewriting Assessment Narratives Through Research‑Informed Practice

TUIASI role: Partner
The project develops a multilingual open‑access e‑book capturing insights from INGENIUM’s MOOC on inclusive assessment, reflective feedback practices and research‑driven methodologies.

3. Inclusive & Flexible Learning Spaces Academy

TUIASI role: Partner
This initiative reinvents hybrid learning environments by combining architectural expertise, learning analytics and inclusive design, with TUIASI contributing its strong background in spatial design.

4. ActivaDos – Active Breaks in University Teaching

TUIASI role: Partner
Focusing on well‑being in education, ActivaDos integrates active breaks into long lectures to improve student attention, cognitive performance and overall engagement.

5. UP2Learn – Green Chemistry Learning Lab

TUIASI role: Partner
A European micro‑credential built on advanced research in CO₂ conversion, catalysis and sustainable resource valorisation, offering doctoral students and early‑career researchers a modern interdisciplinary curriculum.

6. TEAM‑AI

TUIASI role: Partner
TEAM‑AI introduces AI‑augmented workflows into university classrooms, enabling students to work with AI agents transparently and responsibly.
The project aligns with the EU AI Act 2024 and stresses human critical judgement as the central element of academic work.

7. UNI‑CO – Low‑Carbon Cross‑Campus Collaboration Model

TUIASI role: Partner
UNI‑CO builds a shared, low‑carbon digital learning ecosystem for co‑created modules, interdisciplinary student teams and digital mobility across the alliance’s campuses.

Through its involvement in these seven projects, TUIASI strengthens its contribution to shaping the future of European higher education. The projects reflect a commitment to innovation, sustainability, digital transformation and learner‑centred design, core values that define the INGENIUM alliance.
