On October 9, 2026, the Vice-Rectorate for International Relations team welcomed incoming Erasmus students at Erasmus Orientation Day, held at Fab Lab Iași. The event marked the beginning of a new chapter for the international students arriving in Iași, giving them the opportunity to discover the university, the city, and the community they would be part of during their stay.
The event was organized by the Vice-Rectorate for International Relations team, with Erasmus+ coordinators from the university’s faculties and ESN Iași – Erasmus Student Network as guests. TUIASI representatives introduced the students to the university and the opportunities offered by its academic community, while the information about Iași covered historical and cultural landmarks, places to explore, and local dishes. To help students get familiar with their new surroundings, Buddy students prepared useful presentations, a practical survival guide, as well as recommendations and tips for student life in Iași.
An important part of the program was the students’ direct involvement in the planned activities. Beyond the informative presentations, the event encouraged interaction, collaboration, and getting to know one another, helping create a welcoming environment for students at the start of their international experience.
The “Energize” Workshop: collaboration, communication, and team spirit
One of the main highlights of the event was the “Energize” workshop, led by “Ludic – Joc și Minte”. Designed as a series of lively and unconventional activities, the workshop aimed to help participants get to know one another, encourage collaboration, and create a fun atmosphere, giving students the chance to interact in a setting different from their usual academic environment.
The workshop included several challenges, each with its own format and specific goal:
-
“What the Hello?” – kicked off the activities with warm-up exercises and moments designed to encourage laughter and interaction among participants.
-
“Human Rubik” – students were encouraged to get to know their fellow students beyond first impressions, taking part in an activity focused on making connections and getting to know one another.
-
“Connections with a twist” – added to the program, keeping the focus on interaction and building connections between participants.
A special challenge was “Stack ’n’ Rise,” in which teams had to build a tower from six wooden pieces as quickly as possible, coordinating from a distance and using only strings. The task focused on coordinating actions, communication, and collaboration to achieve a shared goal. In this type of activity, the team’s success depends on how well its members coordinate their actions and adapt their strategy as the challenge unfolds.
With the help of experienced facilitators and all the necessary materials provided, the workshop offered an interactive setting where students could take an active part, work together, and spend time in a relaxed atmosphere.
A Warm Welcome That Encourages a Sense of Belonging to the TUIASI Community
Alongside the presentations and workshop, the Vice-Rectorate for International Relations team prepared gift packages for each student, a gesture that supported the integration of Erasmus students.
The program continued with group photos and networking sessions, giving participants more opportunities to interact and get to know their fellow students. The event brought together practical information, team activities, and informal moments, offering an introduction to university life and the local community.
