A Strategic European Pathway: TUIASI – Ud’A Double Degree Master’s Programme

”Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași (TUIASI), in strategic partnership with the University “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti–Pescara (Ud’A), Italy, offers a prestigious double degree master’s programme as part of the INGENIUM European alliance. This initiative provides an academically rigorous and internationally validated path for students aiming to thrive in a global engineering landscape.

Candidate Profile

The programme is open to students officially enrolled in the Rehabilitation and Safety Increase of Constructions master’s programme at TUIASI. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum B2 level of English proficiency, verified through an internationally recognized certificate or an institutional online interview.

Selection is based on an internal annual call and is conducted by a faculty-appointed academic committee according to transparent and merit-based evaluation criteria.

Academic Framework and Mobility

The programme spans two academic years (120 ECTS credits) and encompasses:

  • Courses are conducted entirely in English, ensuring an international academic environment;
  • Students are required to complete at least one semester at the partner university (Ud’A), with a minimum of 30 ECTS earned;
  • The curriculum is fully harmonized and mutually recognized by both institutions;
  • Tuition fees are paid exclusively to the home university, with no additional fees at the host institution.

Thesis: A Cross-Institutional Endeavour

The master’s thesis is written in English and conducted under joint academic supervision: a primary supervisor from TUIASI and a co-supervisor from Ud’A.

The defense takes place at TUIASI, with the active (physical or remote) participation of the Ud’A co-supervisor. This format ensures academic validation across both institutional systems, strengthening the student’s international credentials.

Financial Support and Academic Integration

  • Erasmus+ funding supports international mobility, covering transportation and living expenses during the exchange semester;
  • No additional tuition is required at the host university;
  • Administrative support for housing and academic integration is provided by both institutions.

Student Resources and Institutional Benefits

Enrolled students benefit from:

  • Full access to university libraries, research facilities, laboratories, and online learning platforms;
  • Optional Romanian or Italian language courses to support cultural immersion;
  • Equal academic rights and privileges as local students, including access to extracurricular and student welfare services.

Dual Academic Certification

Upon successful completion, graduates receive:

  • Master’s Degree from TUIASI: Rehabilitation and Safety Increase of Constructions;
  • Master’s Degree from Ud’A: Building Engineering – Engineering Management of Cultural Heritage.
