HealthTech Connect Festival:Technology and Medicine Met in Iași

The “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași (TUIASI), in partnership with the “Grigore T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy Iași (UMF), “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași (UAIC), and the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest, organized, between October 20 and 24, 2025, the HealthTech Connect Festival, an event dedicated to innovation at the intersection of technology and medicine.

A Platform for Collaboration Among Specialists

The festival aimed to create an innovative platform for dialogue and collaboration among researchers, specialists, entrepreneurs, and business representatives in order to accelerate the development of digital and technological solutions in the healthcare field.

For five days, Iași became a meeting point for national and international experts in health, technology, and technology transfer. Participants shared best practices, international experiences, and innovative solutions for developing the regional ecosystem. The HealthTech Connect 2025 Festival included conferences, themed panels, exhibitions, and networking sessions, offering attendees the opportunity to explore collaborations and discover relevant medical innovations.

Conferences, Exhibitions, and Interactive Workshops

October 20–21 – HealthTech Connect Conference
The conference took place in the Carmen Sylva Aula Magna at TUIASI (Building A, Copou) and featured presentations on European best practices, the role of clusters, and international experiences in projects with technology transfer potential.

October 21–22 – AI4-MED Conference: Personalized Medicine in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
This conference brought together specialists who presented AI-based projects and solutions applied in healthcare, clinical case studies from hospitals, startup pitches, and an introductory AI workshop for healthcare professionals.

October 20–21 – Tech & Innovation Expo for Smart Hospital
Held in the “Sala Pașilor Pierduți” (Lost Steps Hall), Building A, Copou, the exhibition showcased the latest technologies for smart hospitals and clinics, including diagnostic systems, patient monitoring devices, telemedicine equipment, and digital solutions for the efficient management of medical units.

October 21–24 – HealthTech Connect Workshops
Organized across the TUIASI, UMF, and UAIC campuses, the workshops offered participants opportunities to explore emerging directions in medical innovation, from mixed reality and 3D printing to artificial intelligence and healthtech business plan development.

October 21 – Pitch Day & Mentors Coffee
At Hotel Unirea – Mezzanine Hall, innovation teams presented their technological solutions before a jury of investors and healthcare experts. At the same time, brokerage and networking events took place in the Vega Hall, focusing on validating innovative ideas.

The HealthTech Connect Festival aimed to become a catalyst for interdisciplinary projects and collaborations that transform medicine through technology, strengthening Iași’s role as a hub for health innovation.

“HealthTech Connect 2025 brought to Iași experts, entrepreneurs, and leaders in health and technology, creating a unique environment for exchanging experience, presenting medical innovations, and developing collaborations between academia, the medical industry, and innovative startups. Through conferences, themed panels, interactive workshops, and technology exhibitions, we sought to inspire and support young professionals and students in turning innovative ideas into concrete solutions with real impact on the healthcare system. This festival was intended to become a reference platform for technology transfer and innovation in the North-East region and in Romania,” said Ciprian Romeo Comșa, Vice-Rector for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Business Partnership at TUIASI.
