INGENIUM Diversity Week 2025 in Action at TUIASI

From 12 to 16 May 2025, “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași (TUIASI) proudly hosted the INGENIUM Diversity Week, part of a wider European celebration powered by the INGENIUM European University Alliance. The week-long program brought students, staff, and guests together through a series of vibrant, meaningful events promoting inclusion, intercultural understanding, and wellbeing in academic life.

🎬 Multicultural Movie Night | 12 May

We kicked off the week with an emotional journey through cinema by screening The Pianist at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering. Students gathered in a warm and relaxed atmosphere to reflect on history, resilience, and human connection. It was an unforgettable evening of stories, empathy, and shared experiences.

🤝 Workshop: Building an Inclusive Community | 13 May

Students participating in the Building an Inclusive Community workshop at TUIASI during INGENIUM Diversity Week 2025.

Held under the SISTEM project (CNFIS-FDI-2025-F-0103), this interactive workshop invited students to explore what it truly means to belong. Through role-playing, scenario-based learning, and campus inclusion audits, participants uncovered their own unconscious biases and reflected on how we can foster empathy, openness, and respect on campus. The message was clear: an inclusive community starts with each of us.

🌱 Wellbeing in Multicultural Communities | 14 May

Exploring mental health, identity, and stereotypes in international student communities at TUIASI.

This session focused on real-life challenges and opportunities in international academic environments. Staff explored the difference between facts, biases, and stereotypes, and learned how diversity can drive innovation while also requiring deeper emotional awareness. Participants left with practical tools and fresh perspectives on how to nurture a culture of empathy and collaboration in European projects.

👕 TUIASI Thrift – Student Swap Market | 14 May

Students swap clothes and accessories at the TUIASI Thrift event, promoting sustainability and inclusion.

A true highlight of the week! Students transformed the T1–T2 dormitory area into a vibrant sustainability hub. Clothes, accessories, and small electronics were swapped or sold, all while music played and communities connected. The event encouraged responsible consumption and showed how environmental consciousness goes hand in hand with cultural diversity.

🎙️ TUIASI Speak – Student Podcast Pilot | 15 May

Launch of TUIASI Speak — a student-led podcast giving voice to international experiences and campus life.

At Creative Nest, we launched the pilot episode of TUIASI Speak — a live-recorded podcast series giving students a platform to express themselves freely. Stories were shared, challenges discussed, and friendships formed. It was a genuine and raw look into student life, identity, and community-building. Stay tuned — more episodes are on the way!

😊 “A Thought for Your Smile” Campus Campaign | 16 May

Spreading smiles across campus — the kindness campaign wraps up an inspiring INGENIUM Diversity Week at TUIASI.

We closed the week on a high note with an outdoor kindness campaign that lit up the TUIASI campus. Positive messages, playful interactions, and cheerful energy turned ordinary walks into memorable moments. This final celebration reminded us how powerful a smile can be in creating inclusive academic spaces.

Why It Matters

INGENIUM Diversity Week 2025 at TUIASI was more than a series of events — it was a statement of our values. By participating, students and staff helped promote a campus culture where diversity is embraced, inclusion is practiced, and wellbeing is prioritized.
