At the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași (TUIASI), the INGENIUM Student Partnerships 2025 call has inspired six winning projects that are driving innovation across Europe. These projects highlight TUIASI’s commitment to sustainability, entrepreneurship, mental health, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
1. GreenGENIUM: Turning Waste into Green Growth (Coordinated by TUIASI)
GreenGENIUM is a project focused on sustainability by implementing smart composting systems across INGENIUM campuses. Using sensor technology, AI, and active student participation, the team transforms organic waste into nutrient-rich compost. TUIASI hosted a week-long sustainability campaign and took part in the Iași Coffee Festival, collecting over 60 kg of coffee grounds for composting.

2. FutureProof: Youth Action for Sustainable Change (Coordinated by TUIASI)
A dynamic three-day workshop was coordinated in Skövde, Sweden, bringing together members of the INGENIUM Student Sustainability Board. The event featured engaging activities like the Climate Fresk, lively debates, and the creation of a sustainable escape room. The goal? To launch a Student Sustainability Hub and Toolkit for use across the alliance.

3. Dental Ergonomic Plate: Innovation in Clinical Practice
In a collaborative effort with students from Ireland and Bulgaria, TUIASI applied engineering skills to develop a wrist-mounted dental tool holder. This innovation aims to improve ergonomic efficiency in dental practice while fostering interdisciplinary teamwork. The team gathered in Cork, Ireland, for prototype testing and workshops.

4. INGENIUM Founders Hub: Building a Cross-Campus Entrepreneurial Network (Coordinated by TUIASI)
This initiative connects entrepreneurial students from Romania, Ireland, Finland, and Germany. After a co-creation session in Finland, local Founders Hub Kick-Off events were launched, including one hosted by TUIASI on November 18, 2025. These events inspire students to innovate and develop startup ideas.

5. SkillNet / IngeniuX: Peer-to-Peer Learning Platform (Coordinated by TUIASI)
A digital platform is being developed to facilitate collaborative learning. This platform will allow students to share skills, tutor peers, and build intercultural academic communities across INGENIUM universities.

6. INGENIUM Chill Spaces: Promoting Mental Health and Inclusion
This project creates biophilic “Chill Spaces” on campuses alongside an online wellbeing platform. It supports neurodiverse students and promotes mental health through nature-inspired design and digital resources.
A European Vision, Powered by TUIASI
These six projects are among the ten winning projects at the alliance level in the INGENIUM Student Partnerships 2025 call. These projects embody the spirit of the INGENIUM European University Alliance: student-led, cross-border, and impact-driven. The TUIASI community involved—coming from engineering, design, informatics, and sustainability backgrounds—are shaping the future of European higher education through creativity, collaboration, and civic engagement.
