TUIASI hosted the INGENIUM Academic Staff Meeting in Engineering

Between 28–29 October 2025, the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași (TUIASI) hosted the INGENIUM Academic Staff Meeting in Engineering, an event dedicated to strengthening academic cooperation and innovation within the European University INGENIUM Alliance.

The meeting brought together academic staff and researchers from partner universities across Europe, both in-person and online. TUIASI had the pleasure of welcoming two colleagues from the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences – Xamk (Finland), alongside participants from all INGENIUM institutions.

Fostering innovation through European collaboration

The discussions focused on several strategic directions for the future of European Engineering education, aligned with the vision of the INGENIUM Alliance:

  • Pathway Programs – interdisciplinary educational tracks designed to provide students with flexible learning opportunities that integrate technical, digital, and transversal skills, addressing the evolving needs of industry and society;

  • Blended Intensive Programs (BIPs) – innovative teaching and learning formats combining short-term physical mobility with shared online activities, encouraging collaboration among universities and active student participation in European projects;

  • Joint Programs – collaborative academic initiatives developed across partner universities, paving the way toward the European Degree Label and fostering mutual recognition of qualifications and competences within the European Higher Education Area;

  • Microcredentials – short, targeted learning modules that complement traditional study programs, supporting lifelong learning and the rapid acquisition of professional skills relevant to the European labour market;

  • Joint PhD supervision and programs – integrated doctoral cooperation models that enhance research collaboration, promote exchange of expertise, and train a new generation of European researchers.

The INGENIUM Alliance provides a strong framework for modernizing European Engineering education. TUIASI is actively contributing to an open, interdisciplinary academic ecosystem based on collaboration and excellence,” said Professor Irina Lungu, Vice-Rector for International Relations and INGENIUM local coordinator at TUIASI.

TUIASI’s active role in the INGENIUM Alliance

The event concluded with discussions on future collaborations and networking sessions that strengthened partnerships among INGENIUM universities. Through this meeting, TUIASI reaffirms its commitment to European academic integration, innovation, and excellence in higher education.
